HalfOco V1 Cheat Sheet

The execution layer for Sierra Chart. One Ctrl+left-click anywhere on the chart places your stop and opens the matching ATM order: long if you click below the current price, short if above. From there HalfOco manages the trade with live position metrics, TradingView-style trade boxes, a protective profit-lock floor that ratchets up as the trade runs, and 25 settings for precise risk and position management.

Quick start

3 settings+

Three settings and you are trading. Everything else works out of the box.

  • Instrument Preset - pick your market (NQ, MNQ, ES...). The point value fills itself.
  • Position Size Mode - leave on Fixed Contracts and set Number of Contracts.
  • Fee per Contract - enter your broker's round-turn commission so net P&L is accurate.

Then enter with one gesture. Point at the price where your stop belongs and press Ctrl+Left-click. HalfOco fires a market entry and attaches the stop in one step: long if you clicked below the current price, short if you clicked above it. That is the whole entry.

Prefer risk-based sizing? Switch Position Size Mode to Dynamic % Risk and HalfOco sizes each trade from your capital, your Risk %, and the distance to your stop: wider stop, fewer contracts; tighter stop, more.

Trading gestures

mouse + keys+

HalfOco is driven from the chart. A few clicks and number keys manage the whole trade.

GestureWhat it does
Ctrl + Left-clickEnter at market with a stop at the clicked price (long if below price, short if above)
Shift + Left-clickPlace or move your full take-profit
Alt + Left-click (profit side)Place or move a half take-profit (scale out half at a target)
Alt + Left-click (stop side)Merge every leg's stop into one master stop at the clicked price
1 / 2 / 3Exit full / half / one-third of the position at market
+ / -Increase / decrease the size used for the next entry
/Toggle sizing: Fixed Contracts ↔ Dynamic % Risk
numpad *Freeze the profit-lock trail for the current trade

Pyramiding is safe. Add to a winner with more Ctrl+click entries in the same direction. HalfOco keeps each leg's stop straight, and if you merge them it reconciles and books every leg correctly, so a partial stop-out can never leave an unaccounted position.

On-chart feedback

live+

HalfOco draws what it is doing, live on the chart. There is no separate panel to watch.

  • Live position metrics - your open P/L, current risk, the armed profit-lock floor, the distance to your scalp target, and prop-firm status update tick by tick beside the position.
  • TradingView-style trade boxes - every closed trade leaves a clean result box on the chart: win or loss, entry and exit, net P&L after fees, and duration. Your whole session reads back at a glance.
  • Stop and peak lines - each leg's stop and your locked-in profit peak are drawn where they sit, so you always see what is protecting the trade.

Profit Lock - the flagship

profit floor+

Once a trade is far enough in profit, HalfOco works to lock in a minimum result. If open profit ever falls back to the locked floor, it flattens for you. A winner can no longer bleed back to a scratch.

  • Profit Lock Activation ($) - the open profit that arms the lock. Default 2000. Set 0 to turn Profit Lock off.
  • Profit Lock ($) - the profit floor once armed, an absolute dollar amount (not a give-back). Default 1500.
  • Profit Lock Trail? - Yes (default) ratchets the floor upward as profit grows; No holds it fixed.
  • Profit Lock Trail Step ($) - how far the floor climbs each time it ratchets. Default 500.
  • Scale Trail With Position Size - Yes (default) keeps the lock's per-contract meaning as you scale in.

Example. With Activation 2000 and Lock 1500: nothing happens until you are +$2,000. From that point on, Profit Lock works to flatten the trade rather than let it finish below +$1,500. With Trail on, every further $500 of profit lifts the floor another $500.

Profit Lock is a stop, not a promise. Like any stop, it can only act while Sierra Chart and your broker connection are live. A disconnect, a platform or broker outage, a fast gap through the level, or a prop-firm lock can stop it firing at the floor. It is built to reduce give-back, not to guarantee any outcome. Nothing here is financial advice; trading futures carries substantial risk of loss.

05

Automated exits & guards

hands-off+

Point Scalp Mode

Auto-flattens the whole position the moment open profit reaches a fixed number of points, but only when the position is large enough. Built for big quick entries where you want the machine, not your nerves, to take the profit.

  • Point Scalp Mode - on by default.
  • Scalp Target (Points) - points of profit from the original entry that trigger the flatten. Default 12.
  • Scalp Min Contracts - scalp only activates at or above this size; smaller positions trade normally. Default 5.

Risk guards

  • SL Gate: Min SL (pts) - refuses an entry whose stop is closer than this, so a fat-finger stop tighter than the noise never gets placed. Default 10. 0 = off.
  • MAE Auto-Exit (pts) - a hard backstop that flattens if the trade moves this many points against you, behind your normal stop. Default 15. 0 = off.

Prop-firm compliance

Guards that keep a single session inside your evaluation or funded-account rules. They act on new entries and session locks only, never on the protection of a position that is already open.

Prop Firm ModeWhat it enforces
Off (default)No compliance limits.
EvalContract cap (Eval Max Contracts, default 12) and an optional daily-loss lock.
Funded PATier-based daily loss limit, profit cap and contract limits that scale as the account grows.

Overrides let you pin exact numbers: Daily Loss Limit Override, Daily Profit Cap Override, and Max Contracts Override (0 on each = automatic).

Mirror account

Set Mirror Trade Account to a second account name and every entry and exit is replicated there with the same size and timing. Typical use: trade an evaluation while mirroring into a funded account. Empty = off.

Good to know

tips+
  • Start on paper. Turn on Paper trading to rehearse the gestures with no risk; behaviour is otherwise identical.
  • Fixed vs Dynamic. Fixed is the simplest start. Dynamic % Risk keeps your dollar risk constant as your stop distance changes.
  • Profit Lock is the safety net, not the exit plan. Use your take-profit gestures to plan exits; the lock exists so a big winner can never fully round-trip.
  • The guards are backstops. SL Gate and MAE Auto-Exit sit behind your normal stop for the times a stop is fat-fingered or the market runs.
  • Prop-firm mode only limits new entries. It never interferes with the protection of a position that is already open.
